I want to call this a good friend in the kitchen, a real multi-tasker to make ahead. Rhubarb and ginger are amazing together. This is such an easy simple sample to make in winter, especially with the ginger coming through. It stores really well in a mason jar in the fridge. Everyone loves it in my house. It’s delicious with a warm porridge, perfect with greek yoghurt and nuts and makes the ideal base for a crumble. A keeper for sure.

Baked oats with greek yoghurt are a winning combo for a balanced, nourishing breakfast. The beauty of it is the endless flavour combinations and making it on a Sunday for the week ahead. They are very easy to transport to the office or studio and are great for kids and grown-ups alike. This recipe is made with kefir instead of milk for the added bonus of supporting your gut health.

Cinnamon, plum & blackberry baked oats

For the oats lovers out there, this is a must try baked oats recipe. Great to make on Sunday and you have at least 2-3 days of breakfast covered. Always top up with a good portion of greek yoghurt (enough to make up 20g protein) and maybe a drizzle of almond butter and you’ve got a perfect all season breakfast. If you have kids needing a refuel in between school, sports etc, it makes a great snack too.

I find that a lot of clients love a bowl of porridge in the morning during the colder months. However, If they train with me and even on days they don’t it makes for a breakfast a little too low in protein, so I have just revisited a classic chocolate berry combo and added a nice clean lean protein powder. It is a balanced breakfast perfect to fuel your day pre workout.

This bake is pretty much a breakfast bowl! Goodness and fibre of the oats, greek yoghurt for the protein and all the berries because we love them so much! It is super simple and can be eaten cold or slightly warmed up with an extra spoonful of yoghurt, almond butter and seeds! You must give it a try! Perfect for a lunch box too.

This is the perfect autumnal warming breakfast! Done using a pressure cooker, it is easy, quick and cost efficient. Made with steel cut oats, this porridge is full of texture, nuttiness and warmth we all crave during colder months. It is a balanced breakfast perfect to fuel a day at school or pre workout.

I could not offer a more simple, balanced, delicious make ahead breakfast than this one! I wasn't even sure I was going to write this as a "recipe". 5-minute chia jam

When porridge season is upon us, making sure we have a wide choice of healthy toppings is key to good breakfast nutrition. Nut butters are a favourite in our house, but this no refined sugar jam is a great healthy alternative. The key to making porridge last you until lunchtime is to include some protein and healthy fats. With the addition of the chia seeds, this jam does both of these things! We have used some of our "pick your own" summer fruits for this one.
