Chocolate protein porridge with berries
I find that a lot of clients love a bowl of porridge in the morning for breakfast during the colder months. However, If they train with me and even on days they don’t, it makes for a breakfast a little too low in protein, so I have just revisited a classic chocolate berry combo and added a protein powder from Nuzest. It is a balanced breakfast perfect to fuel your day pre workout.
ingredients
makes 2 portions
Porridge:
1 cup rolled oats
2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk)
2 chocolate protein powder single serving sachet (Nuzest - 19g protein per portion)
1 heaped teaspoon cacao powder (optional)
Toppings:
Handful frozen blueberries & raspberries
Sprinkle of desiccated coconut
Nuts and seeds
method
Total time: 15mins
In a small pan over medium-high heat, add the oats and almond milk.
Bring to a gentle boil then reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until the oats are tender.
Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
Add in the protein powder and cacao and mix until combined.
Remove the pot from the heat, transfer oats to a bowl and top with your choice of berries.
Sprinkle with coconut or seeds/nuts of choice
