For the oats lovers out there, this is a must try baked oats recipe. Great to make on Sunday and you have at least 2-3 days of breakfast covered. Always top up with a good portion of greek yoghurt (enough to make up 20g protein) and maybe a drizzle of almond butter and you’ve got a perfect all season breakfast. If you have kids needing a refuel in between school, sports etc, it makes a great snack too.

I find that a lot of clients love a bowl of porridge in the morning during the colder months. However, If they train with me and even on days they don’t it makes for a breakfast a little too low in protein, so I have just revisited a classic chocolate berry combo and added a nice clean lean protein powder. It is a balanced breakfast perfect to fuel your day pre workout.

This bake is pretty much a breakfast bowl! Goodness and fibre of the oats, greek yoghurt for the protein and all the berries because we love them so much! It is super simple and can be eaten cold or slightly warmed up with an extra spoonful of yoghurt, almond butter and seeds! You must give it a try! Perfect for a lunch box too.

Overnight flaxseed & chia cinnamon breakfast pots

Good habits start with breakfast. Making ahead is one of the best advice we can give. Those overnight flaxseed and chia breakfast pots take 10 minutes to prepare the day before and keep in the fridge for 2-3 days. Ideal to make on a Sunday afternoon and that’s Monday and Tuesday’s breakfast sorted. They are balanced, high in protein to keep you full until lunchtime and just delicious.

Possibly my 3 favourite Bs: Balance, Breakfast and Bowl. Building a balanced breakfast bowl is so much fun and far easier and quicker than it looks. This is how I built this pretty and colourful bowl of yumminess. Most ingredients can be swapped for similar items you will have in your fridge or cupboards, fruits can be changed based on seasonal availabilities and yoghurt can be replaced with your dairy-free option if necessary.

That sweet taste of summer... Yes I am talking berries and ice cream combination in any way possible!! Except that this ice cream has no milk! It’s the power of the humble banana striking again. We always have bananas in my house, fresh in the fruit bowl for those quick energy refuel moments. I also usually have some sliced frozen bananas in my freezer to add to smoothies or make this nice cream. Once you’ve done this one…do experiment with your favourite flavours!

We are always striving to come up with healthy breakfast ideas that are quick and easy to make and ensure that no one is left hungry. Make this the night before and then breakfast is on the table in seconds. This is my son'r current favourite breakfast as he says it leaves him full until lunchtime. He likes to mix it with some homemade granola for added crunch. This can be made dairy free by substituting the Greek yoghurt with coconut milk or coconut yoghurt.

Not only will a smoothie offer one of the easiest and most versatile way to add goodness to a healthy diet, I have found that with kids, it is such a practical on-the-go way to supplement their diets with essential vitamins and minerals they may lack. Packed full of seasonal ingredients they have become part of our daily life.

Blueberry and blackberry is a delicious combination and I use frozen berries that I always have to hand in the freezer so this recipe can be whipped up at any time. Feel free to substitute with your favourite fillings - rhubarb and ginger; apple and blackberry or pear and ginger are other favourites.
